Holiday Party Band Guide: Denver and Colorado (2026)

Holiday Party Bands in Colorado: 2026 Booking Guide

To book a band for a company holiday party in Colorado, fix the date and venue first, choose a format for each part of the night and sign by late September if you want a Friday or Saturday in December. Seven of our eight December company events in Colorado since 2024 fell on a Friday or Saturday, and the median contract was signed about 10 weeks before the party. Pricing is available on request.

This guide covers the formats that work for each part of a holiday party, which nights go first, what to put in the run of show and what changes in Denver, Boulder and the mountains.

Written by the Great Family Artists team. The examples come from eight December company events we have played or booked in Denver, Boulder and Loveland since 2024. We do not name our corporate clients. Planning a party in New York? See our NYC holiday party band guide.

Plan the night in three parts

Most holiday parties follow the same shape: arrival and drinks, dinner with a short program, then a party. One 2026 holiday party we are booked for in Loveland runs like this:

Time What happens Music
5:30 to 6:30 pm Happy hour Jazz quartet, Christmas music mixed with classic jazz
6:30 to 9:00 pm Dinner and program About 45 minutes of playing in total, at set moments around the speeches
9:00 to 10:30 pm After dinner Dance music on a small dance floor next to the main stage

Write your own version of this table before you call bands. It tells the band how many hours you need, when it must be quiet and when it can be loud.

Pricing

Pricing is available on request. We quote every holiday party individually, because the size of the band, the performance hours, the night of the week, production and travel all change the number. Send us your date, venue, guest count and the hours you need, and we will reply with options for your night.

When to book

Our December company events in Colorado were signed between 8 days and about ten and a half months before the party. The median was 68 days, about 10 weeks.

  • Full bands: the 8- and 10-piece bands for December 2026 were signed 8 to 12 weeks ahead.
  • DJs with live musicians: our repeat client in Boulder signed 11 weeks ahead one year and about four months ahead the next.
  • Small groups: a strings and piano booking was signed two weeks out. The themed jazz party was signed the January before.
  • Last-minute bookings still happen. A large production in Denver was signed 8 days before the event. Expect less choice of night and line-up.

Seven of our eight December company events in Colorado fell on a Friday or Saturday. If your date is fixed on one of those nights, sign by late September.

8 things to put in the booking

  1. The run of show. Arrival, dinner, speeches, awards and the party, with times.
  2. Quiet and loud. When the band plays at conversation level, and when it can open up.
  3. Holiday songs. How many, and in which part of the night.
  4. Who holds the microphone. The band leader, your host or an MC from the band.
  5. Sound for speeches. Whether the band’s system covers the speeches or the venue’s AV team does.
  6. Load-in. The time window and route. Ask the venue for both early.
  7. Insurance. Most venues ask for a certificate of insurance naming the venue. We arrange ours for each venue that asks.
  8. The guest list. Who is in the room, so the set list suits the crowd, with clean versions where needed.

Holiday parties across Colorado

  • Denver: our December company events here have been at the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Country Club and the McNichols Civic Center. Museums and civic buildings set load-in times and routes, so ask for them early.
  • Boulder: we play holiday parties at the Boulder Theater and at hotel venues such as the Moxy Hotel Boulder. Two of our December 2026 company events in Boulder fall on the same Friday, so popular dates go early.
  • Northern Colorado: conference hotels such as the one in Loveland suit a party with a happy hour, a dinner program and a small dance floor in one building.
  • Mountain resorts: we also play December weddings at resorts such as the Westin Riverfront in Avon, on the same Friday and Saturday dates. For a party in the mountains, add travel and lodging for the band to the plan.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a band for a company holiday party in Colorado cost?

Pricing is available on request. We quote every holiday party individually, because the size of the band, the performance hours, the night of the week, production and travel all change the number. Send us your date, venue, guest count and hours, and we will reply with options.

How far in advance should you book a holiday party band in Colorado?

Book as soon as the date and venue are fixed. Our December company events in Colorado were signed a median of 68 days ahead, about 10 weeks. Our 8- and 10-piece bands for December 2026 were signed 8 to 12 weeks out.

Which nights book first for holiday parties in Colorado?

Fridays and Saturdays in the first three weeks of December. Seven of our eight December company events in Colorado fell on a Friday or Saturday, and in 2026 we play two company events in Boulder on the same Friday. A weeknight party gives you more choice of band.

Should a holiday party band play Christmas music?

Ask for it where it fits. One 2026 client in Loveland asked for Christmas music mixed with classic jazz during happy hour and dinner, then music for a small dance floor after dinner. A good plan is a few holiday songs early in the night, then the dance list once dinner ends.

Band or DJ for a company holiday party?

Choose a DJ, or a DJ with a live saxophonist, for a reception, a bar or lounge venue or a smaller room. Choose a band when the party is the main event of the year and you want people dancing. One of our repeat corporate clients in Boulder has booked a DJ with live musicians two Decembers running.

Can the band play quietly during dinner and speeches?

Yes, if you put it in the plan. Give the band leader your run of show, mark when the band plays at conversation level, when it stops for speeches and awards, and who calls each cue.
