A Band That Travels
As Well As It Plays

Great Family Artists brings full live entertainment and production to destination weddings and events across the country. You pick the place. We handle the road.

The hardest part of a destination band is everything off the stage

01 — Why Destination Is Different

A destination celebration adds a second job on top of the music: getting a full band, its gear, and a production crew to a place that isn't down the street, and making it sound like it was always meant to be there.

Local bands play the same five rooms every weekend. A destination event is a different animal. The power might be a generator behind a barn. The stage might be a dock. The nearest backline rental might be three hours away. The couple chose the location because it means something to them, and the entertainment has to rise to it, not apologize for it. Great Family Artists has been a touring operation since 2016, built in two home markets and on the road in between: our New York wedding band team and our Colorado wedding band team. We treat travel, advancing, and logistics as part of the performance, because to the people on the dance floor, they are.

Two home bases, one road map

Rooted in New York and Colorado, on the road across the country in between.

One quote, all-in

Travel, lodging, ground transport, and gear fold into a single number, no surprise line items.

Production that ships

We bring or arrange engineered sound and lighting so a remote venue sounds like a ballroom.

How we run a destination event

Choose the kind of night you are building, then we shape the band, DJ, and production around the room.

02
01

Travel and lodging handled for the whole team

Best fit

A destination band is only as reliable as its travel plan. We book and coordinate flights or drives, lodging, and ground transport for every musician and crew member, then fold it into one all-in quote. You hire a team, not a logistics project.

02

Venue advancing before we ever arrive

Best fit

Our event managers contact your venue and planner weeks ahead to confirm power, stage size, load-in access, noise rules, and curfew. Destination venues hide more surprises than city ballrooms, so we find them on paper, not on the day.

03

Gear that travels or sources locally

Best fit

Depending on the location, backline and production either fly with the band or come from a vetted local supplier run by our own engineers. The sound system is always one we control, so the mix is consistent venue to venue.

04

Custom set lists for the place and the people

Best fit

A mountain wedding in Vail, a coastal celebration in New England, and a desert gala in Santa Fe each ask for a different energy. We curate the set to the location, the crowd, and your must-play list, the same 1:1 process we run for every event.

05

A full sound check, every time

Best fit

No matter how far we travel, the band runs a complete sound check before doors. A destination event gets the same disciplined run-through as a date ten minutes from the studio. Nothing is improvised but the encore.

Already dreaming of somewhere we haven't played?

03 — New Destinations

A city we haven't worked yet is a logistics question, not a closed door. Miami, Charleston, the Caribbean, and Europe are all on the table.

We are honest about the difference between a market we know cold and a destination we are flying into for the first time. The advantage of a touring operation is that the playbook is the same either way: advance the venue, confirm power and stage, arrange backline locally or ship it, run a full sound check, then play like it's the only show that matters. If your celebration is somewhere we haven't named on this page, tell us where, and we will tell you exactly how we would make it work, with a clear travel plan and an all-in quote before you commit to anything.

Now expanding: we are bringing the full GFA experience to two featured new markets. Book early for wedding bands in Miami and wedding bands across Texas.

Entertainment, travel, lodging, ground transport, and production land in a single clear number with the hours and lineup spelled out.

4

We advance the venue and show up ready

Once you're booked, our event managers handle the venue and planner coordination, and the band arrives, sound checks, and delivers.

Destination event FAQ

05
Does Great Family Artists travel for destination weddings?

Yes. Great Family Artists travels nationwide for destination weddings and events. The band is based in New York and Colorado and has performed across more than a dozen states, from Vermont and Rhode Island to New Mexico, Florida, and Wyoming. Travel, lodging, and gear logistics are built into a single destination quote, so you book one team and we handle the road.

How does travel cost work for a destination event band?

A destination quote folds travel into one number: airfare or drive time for the full lineup, lodging, ground transport, and shipping or renting backline at the venue. You see the all-in figure up front rather than surprise add-ons. The base entertainment range matches our home markets; the travel layer depends on the location, the size of the band, and how much gear flies versus rents locally.

Can you perform at a destination where you haven't played before?

Yes. We are available for destination events in Miami, Charleston, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond, even where we have no prior event on the books. The work is the same anywhere: advance the venue, confirm power and stage, arrange backline locally or ship it, and run a full sound check before doors. A new city is a logistics problem we solve, not a reason to say no.

How far in advance should I book a destination wedding band?

Book a destination band as early as your date and venue are locked, ideally 12 to 18 months out. Destination dates involve travel coordination and venue advancing on top of the usual calendar demand, so the earliest inquiries get first choice of lineup and the cleanest logistics. We have held dates on shorter runways, but earlier is always better for travel pricing and availability.

Do you bring your own sound and lighting to a destination venue?

We bring or arrange a full production package for every destination event. Depending on the location, gear either travels with the band or is rented from a vetted local supplier and run by our own engineers. Either way, the band performs through an engineered system it controls, so a remote mountain lodge sounds as clean as a Manhattan ballroom.
